Across Ireland

In this blog I'm going to write about my experiences traveling gluten free, in this post I'll be talking about Ireland.

This last summer I went exploring Ireland as my 18th birthday present, we went on a tour of 8 days and 7 nights. The tour involved visiting many places around Ireland, such as Dublin, Killarney, Galway, Sligo and Belfast.

The two first days we went exploring Dublin, we walked through many streets which were full of music and pubs, there was music live everywhere. One of the most known streets of Dublin is Temple Bar Street, that’s where the most popular bars are, it’s full of shops and pubs. Every little house is decorated with colourful flowers all year around.

During our visit to Dublin we also visited St Patrick Church, Trinity College (including Book of Kells), St Stephen Green Park, Dublin’s Castle and went shopping on Grafton Street.

We spend the second and third night in a small hotel in Tralee. The third day we did a bit of sport, we had to walk thought the Torc Falls! It was a rainy day, so we had to take our boots out and get prepared to sweat, eventhough it was raining the view was wonderful and reminded me of my hometown; all the way to the start of the fall was full of mood and green plants which was really beautiful. After that we went to explore Killarney, which was a beautiful small town which a lot of gluten free bakeries and supermarkets, I felt in love with that town!

The sun started shinning on the afternoon, so we went to Muckross House and Garden, we walked through several gardens, and there’s where I took ones of the most beautiful pics ever!

On Wednesday (the 4th day) it was also a rainy day, but we went visiting the Moher Cliffs and Galway. Moher Cliffs were amazing, at first it was very cloudy so we couldn’t see anything, but minutes after it was so sunny that we could see the three islands! The view was amazing, I never imagined that nature could make such amazing things!

After that amazing view we went visiting Galway, it was an interesting town in where we visit the main church and some of the streets. We were there for a very short time because we had to drive to hotel, it was getting really late.

The next day we crossed the border with Northern Ireland, thank God that was a sunny day because we went to the Giants Causeway! If I had to describe this I woudn’t have words for it! Mother Nature had done such an amazing things with rocks, the guide told us the “Giants story” throughout the visit. I also took amazing pics here.

Later that day, we visit Belfast, which I didn’t really liked but I enjoyed another night at the pub. Because it was a sunny afternoon in Belfast we had plenty of time to explore many monuments, streets and even take a sit in a park!

On Saturday we travelled from Belfast to Dublin and spend the afternoon doing the last shopping. On Sunday morning we went to the airport to catch the plane, visiting Ireland was such an experience! I can’t wait to go back!
